On Saturday we went down to Seward to do a glacier and wildlife cruise in the Kenai Fjords National Park. The train was scheduled for 6:45 am and check-in was an hour prior which meant getting up at 5am....It wasn't that bad tho since the sun was already high up in the sky and it was nice and warm outside. Our boss booked us on the Gold Star service which is the panorama cart of the train. Usually super expensive but hey - there is a reason for working in the tourism industry right? ;-)
The ride down to Seward took about 4 hours and was so beautiful. For the first hour the train goes right next to the highway which is already an amazing ride and then it goes right through the mountains through areas that you can only access by train and the nature was just like you expect Alaska to look like.
